Magazines: Why We Love Them

Almost every girl loves to indulge herself in a magazine full of fashion and advice. Reading about the new styles of the season, the funny, embarrassing stories that girls send in, celebrity gossip, and the tips to make your day better is always fun. Sleepovers and girls’ nights are always filled with tons of magazines.

Why do we love reading them? And what is it that makes girls practically trust magazines with their whole life? Why do we automatically accept a new style or color just after seeing it on a glossy page?
Girls love to talk with their friends and exchange advice and tips. A magazine is written by girls you don’t know, who give advice from afar. But we love having that other side of advice. Our friends know us personally but magazines are impersonal, in a good way.

When we read about something embarrassing that happened to another girl, it helps us realize that silly things happen, but you must move past them and put your embarrassment aside. Reading about celebrities shows us a side of them that assures us they are girls just like us.
