The Sisters![]() Alison G.Alison is a 17-year-old junior at a public high school in Westchester County, N.Y. She is really interested in theater and spends a lot of her time singing, dancing and acting. In addition to being an active member of her school’s theater company, Alison is a member of the anti-global warming club and she volunteers weekly at a local elementary school. The rest of the time, Alison loves to hang out with her friends and go shopping, watch movies, or just talk. She also spends excessive amounts of time going on Facebook and watching “Grey’s Anatomy” reruns. ![]() Amy W.Amy is a 15-year-old sophomore at Fox Chapel Area High School in suburban Pittsburgh. She has a wide range of interests, including fashion, politics and dance. Amy has attended Emma Kaufmann Camp in West Virginia for several years, and cherishes the strong friendships she has made and kept there. She has a close relationship with her older sister, Robin, who is a senior and heading to college next fall. Among Amy’s friends, anybody’s closet is everybody’s closet in this recession! ![]() Caitlin B.Caitlin is a 15-year-old sophomore at an early college school in Bensonhurst. She’s a second basemen on her school’s softball team, the Lady Patriots. She loves texting, traveling and shopping. She and her cell phone are inseparable, and her friends and family are her life. ![]() Camille K.Camille grew up in southern California, and currently attends Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame. She loves to hang out with family and friends, travel, run, row, and watch the Lakers! Camille is studying Mass Communications and public relations and is planning to study in Rome next spring! It is rare that you won’t find her baking cupcakes or brownies in the kitchen or texting her family. ![]() Carissa M.Carissa is a high school student, but some might call her an entrepreneur. When her summer job offer was rescinded because of the economy, she and her best friend began their own cooking camp by handing out flyers and self-promoting. It is this desire and work ethic that makes Carissa one determined high schooler. She has a love for fashion and a newfound love for traveling the world. ![]() Casey S.Casey is 13 years old and goes to South View Middle School. Her days are filled with many activities, including violin lessons, synchronized swimming practice and diving lessons. Besides her interests in those areas, she loves to talk about beauty products and what styles and trends are in or out. ![]() Christine V.Christine is a 15-year-old sophomore at a public high school in Nassau County, N.Y., with a special emphasis on music and the arts. She has been dancing since age 2 and is currently involved in drama, show choir, tap, jazz and ballet. She performs in several dance and theater productions a year and is rarely seen without her iPod. Emily A.Emily is a 22-year-old recent graduate from the University of Vermont with a major in English and communications. She hails from Carlisle, Mass., a small town about 40 minutes outside of Boston, but is currently adjusting to life in New York City, where she is interning for Euro RSCG Worldwide PR! Emily enjoys travelling—especially to London and Rome, where she studied and lived for a few years). Her favorite sport is baseball (she is a big Red Sox fan) and loves writing, fashion, photography, movies, shopping and spending time with friends and her younger sister Olivia. Emily K.Emily is 16 years old and a junior at Portsmouth Abbey, a coed boarding school in Rhode Island. She plays three varsity sports: soccer, ice hockey and track, and she loves tennis, surfing and skiing, as well. One of her favorite times of each year is when she goes on the Appalachian Service Project to help build houses and improve the quality of life for people in the Appalachian region. She loves learning about different cultures and has been learning how to speak Zulu, a language spoken in South Africa, where she hopes to travel someday. She likes to stay up on current fashion trends, music and current events. She’s pretty busy but also easygoing, and she loves to spend time with her friends. Evelyn D.Evelyn is 18 years old and attends the University of Rhode Island. She is very interested in many types of music and spends a lot of her time hanging out with her friends. She has a great sense of style and has a close friendship with her sister, Isabelle (who also blogs for The Sisterhood). Felice F.Felice is a 19-year old sophomore at Brown University, studying International Relations and Middle East Studies. On campus, she is primarily involved with Common Ground: Justice and Equality in Palestine/Israel, EmPower, (an environmental advocacy and action group,) as well as other activities and groups. She loves languages, dance, yoga, The MoMA, and of course her summer internship at ERWWPR! ![]() Hania N.Hania is a 17-year-old, born and bred in London. She will attend college next year, where she plans to study fashion, with an eye toward becoming a fashion buyer/merchandiser for a major design firm. Hania is the charity rep at her school in London and, as such, hosts many events. She is friendly, confident and loves meeting new people. ![]() Isabelle D.Isabelle is a 17-year-old student at a private high school in Westchester County, N.Y. She plays varsity volleyball, is her school’s photographer and is very interested in graphic design. She is very friendly and outgoing and has a very close relationship with her sister Evelyn D., who also blogs for the Sisterhood website. ![]() Jessica G.Jessica is a 16-year-old who attends a private school in Fairfield County, Conn. She plays varsity basketball and lacrosse. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends as well as pursuing her interest in creative writing. She is an involved leader in school as the president of her junior class and outside of school with her position as regional secretary of Jack and Jill of America. Her BlackBerry might as well be attached to her hip; she never leaves the house without it. ![]() Julia D.Julia is a 20—yes 20—year-old junior at Boston College from New York City double majoring in creative writing and film who dabbles in graphic design. Despite her friends’ many jokes that her major will never get her a job, she hopes to someday make her living writing movies at Pixar. A self-professed comic book nerd, Julia spends much of her time watching trailers for the newest superhero movies as a procrastination tactic to avoid doing her homework. If she could have any superpower it would be teleportation, and she diligently works on the ability through strenuous concentration while she runs to class and arrives late nearly every day. ![]() Kelsey J.Kelsey is an 18-year-old who attends a private school in Westchester County, N.Y. She’s a competitive fencer who has been fencing since she was in the eighth grade. She likes to work in Photoshop and has an appreciation for all kinds of music. ![]() Kimberly B.Kimberly is an 18-year-old sophomore at Binghamton University. She is an Accounting major with a concentration in Marketing in the School of Management, and is also a part of the PwC Scholars Program. She loves to stay involved on campus and as such she is a member of the Binghamton University Cheer Squad, an advertising manager for the campus’ bi-weekly newspaper, and a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. Kimberly loves to hang out with her friends and family, and enjoys dancing and shopping in her spare time. This summer Kimberly is interning at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR and is really enjoying it so far! ![]() Lauren T.Lauren is a 19-year-old freshman at Ohio State University, where she works behind the front desk in her dorm building. She is part of the UNICEF club and the Invisible Children organization. She spent four years at Huntington Beach High School as part of her high school’s cheer team, ASB and Model UN program. She is rarely seen without her trusty phone at her side. She loves reading, going to the movies and shopping with her new friends. Lauren is a French major and (as of today) would like to be a high school French teacher. ![]() Mallory M.Mallory McLoughlin is a 21-year-old from Bedford, N.Y. She is newly graduated from Duke University, where she majored in International Comparative Studies and Arabic. In addition to her love of foreign languages and cultures, she adores listening to music, shopping, swimming and chilling with her dog, Ollie (a Cavalier King Charles). She doesn’t have any sisters of her own (just two brothers, yuck!), so she looks forward to giving and receiving sisterly advice on the site. ![]() Megan S.Megan is 13 years old and a sixth grader at South View Middle School. She loves to ski and practice gymnastics (which she’s been doing since last summer and totally loves). There’s nothing she likes more than to feel the wind in her hair—except, perhaps, to bury her nose in a book. Don’t bother her while she’s reading—she really gets into her books. Her favorite subject in school is social studies, partly because she loves learning about other cultures. ![]() Morgan M.Morgan is a 15-year-old from Saratoga Springs, N.Y., who enjoys dancing, cheerleading, listening to the newest pop music, watching “The Secret Life” and keeping up with the shows on E!, and writing, reading and romance novels (with aspirations to become an author or screenwriter). She also loves hanging out with friends and spending quality time with her parents, brother and two sisters. She spends a lot of time surfing the Web. Favorite sites include Facebook, OceanUp.com, Twitter and Forever21. ![]() Morgan E.Morgan is 18 years old, from Libertyville, Ill., and a senior at Libertyville High School. She is obsessed and completely fascinated with all things fashion and photography—photography is a major hobby of hers; she has pursued it for five years. She enjoys writing about all sorts of things, both as a journalist and as a creative writer. She also loves to travel with her family and is constantly on the go. And finally, she could not survive without her computer to write about all her experiences. ![]() Remy G.Remy is a 17-year-old from New Rochelle, N.Y. When she isn’t busy dancing (both jazz and tap) or running track, she can be found lying in the sun or hanging out with friends. As she puts it, “Anything is fun as long as you’re with a friend.” ![]() Sarah H.Sarah is a 16-year-old who attends a public school in Essex County, N.J. Sarah is a lacrosse player, so she definitely has a sporty side, but she also has a girly side—as evidenced by her love for makeup and fashion. ![]() Skylar D.Skylar is a 15-year-old junior from Palo Alto, Calif., in the heart of Silicon Valley. She’s a competitive water polo player who loves working with little kids. In the summers, she runs water polo clinics for children from the Boys & Girls Club. She loves spending time with friends and family, and likes writing for her high school sports magazine, the Viking. ![]() Taryn M.Taryn is a 16-year-old junior from Fairfield County, Conn., who goes to boarding school in Rhode Island. She’s an avid ice hockey player, texter and video chatter—and she also loves to write. Since she is constantly on the road for school or sports, her BlackBerry is virtually never out of her sight. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t send a text…okay, several texts. Tegan H.Tegan is a 16-year-old senior at a private school in London, England. She is a member of both varsity soccer and dance team at her school. She spends most of her time dancing and recently performed in a show in the West End. She is an active member of the National Honor Society at her school as well as co-president of Invisible Children, a movement seeking to end conflict in Northern Uganda. Tegan also volunteers for a private therapy practice where she works with students with learning disabilities. In her free time Tegan loves to go shopping and to take advantage of all that London has to offer. ![]() Tori S.Tori is a 19-year-old freshman at Ohio State University. Before embarking on this journey, she was born and raised in southern California and attended a coed, private Catholic high school. She is a sports fan slash girly girl (always up for a basketball game or a manicure) and is highly committed to her academic career. Tori has always valued her family and friends and appreciates the technology that allows her to stay in touch with them over long distances. She also enjoys trying many different things, as well as going on new adventures. |
